About Aqua Academy

At An Award Winning Swim School

Aqua Academy was established in 2005 by World Record-holding Masters swimmer Jo Corben and Caroline Franklin.

We pride ourselves on providing high-quality private lessons in intimate, small classes, and were awarded the prestigious Swim School of the Year award by South East ASA in 2010.

Now, with more than two decades of experience under our belts, we have taught many thousands of Hampshire children to swim.

Lessons can start for children as young as three months with an adult, and those of three years and over will graduate to independent learn-to-swim classes.

Our 30 minute lessons and hour-long advanced classes run seven days per week, and are situated in Gosport, at a purpose-built teaching pool on the Leesland C of E Junior School premises.

Not only do we provide award-winning swimming critique, we also build on those foundations to give swimmers invaluable personal survival and life saving skills.

Our certified instructors have years of experience teaching all skill levels, from complete beginners to advanced swimmers. We focus on building water confidence, promoting safety, and helping every student achieve their swimming goals in a fun and engaging way.

Our classes feature small group sizes for personalized attention, warm and friendly instructors, and a positive learning environment where swimmers thrive. Whether you’re introducing your baby to water or preparing your child for school swim requirements, Aqua Academy is here to guide you every step of the way.

Meet The Team

Jo Corben

Co-Director of Aqua Academy since 2005

Jo is a current World Champion with multiple World, European, and British Masters records. She loves sharing her passion for swimming with children of all ages and is a qualified Swim England and STA Level 2 Teacher, as well as an STA Baby & Pre-School Teacher.

Caroline Franklin

Co-Director of Aqua Academy since 2005

Caroline is passionate about giving every child the chance to swim in safe, fun, and supportive lessons. A former competitive swimmer, she developed Aqua’s baby and toddler lesson style and has been recognised nationally with Swim England’s Best Coach of the Year award.

Jane Fisher

Administration Manager

Jane has been with Aqua Academy for over 15 years and is always here to help. With her background in schools and years of admin experience, she’s the friendly face to go to with any questions about your child’s swimming lessons.
